With Mammovision, ultrasound, ultrasound elastography, 4D ultrasound, laboratory analyses and hormone diagnostics, we assess your health situation carefully and precisely. Our aim is to detect changes early and to clarify health questions comprehensively. The methods are gentle and at the same time informative – whether you have symptoms or are coming for preventive care. Ultrasound, 4D ultrasound, Mammovision and elastography provide detailed insights for a careful diagnosis. Laboratory tests and hormone analysis complement them: they allow important health values to be assessed comprehensively and connections to be recognised early. Our focus is on diagnostic quality, care and personal support. We discuss every finding with you and place it in the context of your history. We see the radiation-free methods of breast diagnostics as a complement: where a mammogram or mammography screening is recommended, they do not replace it. Our approach to diagnostics
It begins with a conversation: we take time for your history, your symptoms and your questions. We then choose together the examinations that make sense in your situation. We provide only medically indicated and medically appropriate services. Guideline-based methods such as ultrasound and laboratory tests form the basis. Radiation-free additional methods such as Mammovision, elastography and ultrasound CT can complement the picture. We consider the results in context: hormones, thyroid, immune system, metabolism and possible environmental exposures. In this way we look for causes, not just individual values.

Mammovision, elastography and ultrasound CT are complementary, radiation-free methods and replace neither mammography nor mammography screening; vital field diagnostics is a complementary method whose informative value has not been scientifically established.

Our methods at a glance
Mammovision is a radiation-free infrared breast diagnostic and a complementary building block of breast screening – not a replacement for mammography. Ultrasound is precise, gentle imaging for examining different organ systems. Ultrasound elastography assesses tissue changes and their consistency, above all their firmness. 4D ultrasound shows organs three-dimensionally and in real time, allowing detailed diagnostic insights. Laboratory tests analyse important health values as a basis for targeted treatment. Hormone analysis examines hormonal imbalances closely so that treatment can be tailored individually. Ultrasound CT complements breast diagnostics with computer-assisted ultrasound cross-sectional images.
Radiation-free examinations – and when an X-ray is still needed
Ultrasound, elastography, ultrasound CT and Mammovision do not use X-rays. They can therefore be repeated and compared over time. Even so, mammography remains a central method of breast cancer screening. In Germany, women in a defined age range are invited regularly to mammography screening. Where a mammogram is recommended, the radiation-free methods do not replace it. They can, however, provide additional information. Breast ultrasound, for example, is a useful addition in dense glandular tissue. We discuss openly and calmly which combination suits you.
Laboratory, hormones and environment
Many women's symptoms are linked to the hormone system, the thyroid, the immune system or metabolism. Laboratory tests help to identify such connections. As a specialist in environmental medicine, Prof. Schulte-Uebbing also pays attention to possible environmental exposures, for example to heavy metals or hormonally active substances – so-called endocrine disruptors. He has published numerous specialist articles on these topics. Private laboratory tests complement the services covered by health insurance when a more extensive work-up makes sense. Which values we measure always depends on your question. We discuss the results with you in detail and place them in the context of your history.
Research on breast diagnostics
Prof. Schulte-Uebbing has worked scientifically on radiation-free methods of breast diagnostics for many years. Among other things, he published “Breast elastography and high-frequency ultrasound CT: two radiation-free complementary methods” (Journal of Naturopathic Physicians, 2011). Together with R. Berz, he wrote a chapter on Mammovision in the specialist book “Medical Infrared Imaging, Principles and Practices” (CRC Press, 2013). In the titles of his papers, these methods are expressly described as “complementary”, in other words supplementary. That is exactly how we use them in our practice. Where an examination reaches its limits, we tell you openly and recommend the next guideline-based clarification.

Does Mammovision replace mammography?
No. Mammovision, elastography and ultrasound CT are complementary, radiation-free methods. Where a mammogram is recommended – for example in mammography screening or to investigate a finding – they do not replace it. We are happy to discuss with you which examinations make sense in your situation and how they complement one another.
What diagnostic methods does your practice use?
We use radiation-free methods such as ultrasound, ultrasound CT, Mammovision and ultrasound elastography, as well as laboratory analyses. In addition, we offer vital field diagnostics as a complementary method. A detailed medical history always comes first. We then choose the examinations that suit your question. The aim is individual treatment that addresses the causes.
Does health insurance cover the examinations?
Patients with statutory health insurance (GKV) and private health insurance are very welcome at our practice. We bill medically necessary examinations, for example an ultrasound for symptoms, to your health insurance. Complementary methods such as Mammovision, elastography or extended laboratory profiles are often self-pay services under the German fee schedule for doctors (GOÄ). We will tell you beforehand what costs will arise.
Are the examinations uncomfortable?
Ultrasound, elastography and Mammovision are generally well tolerated. In a pelvic ultrasound, a slim probe is gently inserted into the vagina; this may feel unfamiliar. With Mammovision, the breast is not compressed. A blood sample is needed for laboratory tests. If anything is uncomfortable for you, please tell us at any time.
Do I need to prepare for the examination?
Please bring any existing findings – such as earlier ultrasound, mammography or laboratory results – and a list of your medications. For some laboratory tests you may need to come on an empty stomach or wait for a particular day of your cycle. We will tell you what applies to you when you make your appointment.
Do I need a referral?
For an appointment at a gynaecology practice you do not usually need a referral. Simply book your appointment by phone on 089 299655 or online via Doctolib. We are accepting new patients; as we take sufficient time for every woman, we recommend getting in touch early.
When will I receive my results?
Imaging examinations such as ultrasound can usually be discussed with you straight afterwards. Laboratory values take some time, depending on the test. We agree with you at your appointment how you will receive the results and when we will discuss them together.
What should I do if I have acute symptoms?
For acute severe pain, heavy bleeding or a high fever, please contact the medical on-call service on 116 117. In an emergency, dial 112. In all other cases, even if it is acute, we appreciate it if you call us beforehand on 089 299655.
