Our approach

Our approach to anti-ageing infusions

For us, anti-ageing means ageing healthily – not holding back age. That is why we start with a detailed conversation about your health, your lifestyle and your goals. If needed, we measure laboratory levels, for example of vitamins, trace elements and hormones. On this basis we put together an infusion with vital nutrients. It can complement support through the menopause, aesthetic treatments or changes in diet and exercise. The framework is provided by conventional medicine and naturopathy together.

An honest assessment

We see anti-ageing infusions as a complement to a healthy lifestyle and guideline-based preventive care – not as a replacement. There is no scientific evidence that they slow ageing; we will discuss openly what makes sense for you.

Costs and health insurance

Anti-ageing infusions are self-pay services that we bill under the German Fee Schedule for Physicians (GOÄ). Statutory health insurers do not usually cover them; whether a private insurer contributes depends on your plan and findings. You will also usually pay for laboratory tests without a medical reason yourself. We will tell you before treatment what costs will arise.

What anti-ageing means in medicine

Anti-ageing literally means “against ageing”. In medicine it mainly refers to ageing healthily and keeping body and mind capable for a long time. Ageing itself is a natural process that no treatment can stop. Above all, the foundations are well studied: exercise, a balanced diet, enough sleep, not smoking, sun protection and social contact. Vital nutrient infusions cannot replace these foundations; they are used as a complement. Prof. Schulte-Uebbing has presented at anti-ageing congresses, for example on “Vitamin D Substitution and Treatment in Menopause and in Anti Aging Medicine” (Anti Aging Symposion, University of Oradea, 2011).

Free radicals and antioxidants

A common theory of ageing holds that so-called free radicals damage cells. These are reactive oxygen compounds that arise during metabolic processes, but also through UV light, smoking or pollutants. Antioxidants such as vitamin C, vitamin E or selenium can neutralise free radicals. Anti-ageing infusions are based on the idea of supporting the cells in this way. To be honest, though: studies have not been able to show that additional antioxidants slow ageing. In large amounts, some can even be harmful. That is why we put the infusion together based on your levels and not on the principle of “the more, the better”.

Skin from the inside and the outside

Skin ages over time, but particularly through UV light, smoking and hormonal changes. During the menopause, oestrogen levels fall and skin often becomes thinner and drier. A good supply of vital nutrients is one of the foundations of healthy skin. It does not replace sun protection or skin care, however. If you would like targeted treatment of wrinkles, skin texture or firmness, our practice offers aesthetic services such as hyaluronic acid, PRP, mesotherapy or fruit acid peel. If you wish, we combine these treatments with an anti-ageing infusion. We discuss which combination suits you in a conversation.

Menopause and healthy ageing

With the menopause, hormones, metabolism, bones and skin change. Many women notice hot flushes, sleep problems or reduced resilience. The risk of osteoporosis also rises. As a gynaecology practice, we therefore do not see anti-ageing separately from women's health. If needed, we check hormones and vital nutrients and discuss approaches with you such as natural hormone therapy, exercise and diet. Prof. Schulte-Uebbing has also worked on the hormone DHEA, for example in the article “What you should know about the ‘anti-ageing hormone’ DHEA” (Your Health magazine, 2018).

Good questions. Clear answers.

Frequently asked questions about anti-ageing infusions

Can't find your question? Give us a call – we will take the time.

Does an anti-ageing infusion make you younger?

No. No infusion can stop or reverse ageing. The aim is to supply your body with vital nutrients where there is a need and to support your well-being. How you experience this is individual. We give you honest advice and promise nothing that an infusion cannot deliver.

What does an anti-ageing infusion contain?

Depending on your results, vitamins, minerals, trace elements or amino acids may be suitable, for example antioxidants such as vitamin C. We decide on the composition after the conversation and based on your laboratory results. We explain exactly what the infusion contains and why we put it together this way.

Does health insurance cover the costs?

Anti-ageing infusions are self-pay services under the German Fee Schedule for Physicians (GOÄ). Statutory health insurers do not usually cover them. Whether a private insurer contributes depends on your plan and findings. We will tell you before treatment what costs will arise.

From what age does an anti-ageing infusion make sense?

There is no fixed age. What matters are your health, your levels and your goals. Many women think about this during the menopause, others earlier. More important than age is whether there is a need – we clarify that in the conversation.

Can I combine the infusion with aesthetic treatments?

Yes, if you wish. Our practice also offers aesthetic treatments such as hyaluronic acid, PRP for the skin, mesotherapy and fruit acid peel. We discuss with you which combination suits your wishes and in what order it makes sense.

How often do anti-ageing infusions make sense?

We decide this individually. What matters are your levels, how you feel and your goals. Sometimes a single infusion is planned, sometimes a series. Follow-up results show us whether your nutrient supply has changed and whether further infusions make sense.

Does an anti-ageing infusion have side effects?

As with any infusion, a bruise or irritation of the vein can occur at the injection site. Circulatory symptoms or allergic reactions are rare. We keep an eye on how you are feeling during the infusion. We clarify existing conditions, medicines and allergies beforehand in the conversation.

Can I have an anti-ageing infusion during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, an anti-ageing infusion is generally not an option. Special rules apply to vitamins and other substances during this time. If you have questions about your supply of vital nutrients in this phase of life, we will be happy to advise you on what makes sense then.
